Henri’s Home is a collaborative effort with Lisa Madenspacher, a local artist from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. After years of reading stories to my children and grandchildren, I wanted to create my own book. Because of my love of the beach and all of its creatures, I decided to tell the story of a hermit crab family. The main character, young Henri, experiences an unexpected beach adventure and seeks help from several friends of the sea along the way. This heartwarming tale about the importance of family and perseverance is brought to life by the beautiful watercolor illustrations of Lisa Madespacher (lisamadenspacher.com). Lisa interpreted my words in a magical way that only my heart could imagine. Henri’s Home is sure to be a favorite picture book for families who love the beach as much as I do.
